Tuskegee Community Mourns Loss of Student Advisor

Donna Sue King headshotThe 51¶¯Âþ family mourns the loss of Donna Sue King, who served as Student First Financial Wellness Advisor in 51¶¯Âþ’s REACH Center. 
 
She joined 51¶¯Âþ two years ago as part of the University’s Student First initiative. She helped students learn to manage their personal finances, become responsible borrowers, manage debt and plan for the future.
 
Prior to that, she worked with the Georgia Department of Human Services, was a financial aid specialist for Point University, an economic support specialist for the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services, and had served as a counselor and teacher in the Chambers County School District in Lafayette, Alabama.
 
King passed away on Sept. 15 and her family has announced funeral arrangements.
 
A public visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19 at Vines Funeral Home Chapel, 211 B Street, LaFayette, Alabama.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20, at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 3089 Judge Brown Road, Valley, Alabama. Interment will be in Essie J. Handy Memorial Cemetary in LaFayette, Alabama.
